Ecoship introduced to cruise industry at Seatrade Cruise Global Conference
Peace Boat’s Ecoship was introduced to cruise industry insiders for the first time, with an exhibition and press briefing at the Seatrade Cruise Global Conference 2016 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from March 14-17 2016. For more than 30 years, Seatrade Cruise Global has been the leading international exhibition and conference serving the cruise industry by bringing together buyers and suppliers for a week of networking, sourcing, innovation, and education.
In Fort Lauderdale, Peace Boat Founder and Director, Yoshioka Tatsuya, explained that he had been inspired by the positive reactions received in Paris, Abu Dhabi and Vancouver. “The time is right for this ship: post-Paris, there is an incredible momentum for sustainable change. We’ve sailed for over 30 years on our around the world cruises. We know that our passengers want to do more to make a positive impact on the planet. The global shipping industry is currently one of the major contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, but we believe our Ecoship will capture the public’s imagination on what is possible at sea. Working together, the cruise industry has tremendous power to advance climate solutions”, he said.
