The Ecoship Project visits Dubai
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the Seatrade Middle East returns for its 8th edition as part of Dubai Maritime Week. The maritime meeting place will take place in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 31 October – 2 November 2016. The Ecoship Project will present with a booth displaying the latest news of the project (Stand F10).
This flagship event for the maritime sector attracts more than 7,000 attendees from across 69 different countries who specifically use this platform to do business with owners, operators, managers, charterers, superintendents, senior management and anyone involved with the procurements of equipment and services within the maritime, offshore, oil & gas and ports industries.
The three-day event includes a conference, an exhibition, networking opportunities and more. For the first time, Seatrade Maritime Middle East welcomes partners, ISSA (International Ship Suppliers and Services Association) and Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) UAE Branch who will be hosting events within the Seatrade event programme.
The Ecoship Project is now at the stage of taking bids for construction of the vessel and is having design consultation carried out by DNV GL, a partner that recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Peace Boat at SMM in September, following original design work from Spanish firm Oliver Design. The contract for the build of the vessel is due to enter into force in 2017, with delivery scheduled for 2020.
