Peace Boat to visit New York City on October 10-11
Peace Boat will return to New York City on October 10-11 to host various events with UN partners, youth and civil society organizations. The Japan-based NGO and Ecoship will host the first-ever ‘Blue Innovation Summit Reception’, together with The Explorers Club, SeaAhead and partners working towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Following on from the United Nations Climate Action Summit and the first UN Summit on the Sustainable Development Goals since the 2015 adoption of the 2030 Agenda, Peace Boat will invite partners on board who are working to find innovative solutions for climate action and “blue” ocean technology, to build momentum together and share best practices for responsible ocean stewardship and achieving the SDGs.
Peace Boat has Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. As a committed campaigner for the SDGs, our vessel sails with the SDGs logo on its hull, travelling around the world to promote the United Nations 2030 Agenda and visiting approximately 100 countries around the world annually.
